Important Notes to Avoid Fixture Congestion |
|
|
Due to the weather
conditions, it is now necessary to impose a |
|
| |
"Games Must be Played Home or Away" |
|
| |
clause on ALL fixtures. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
In other words, if
the home team pitch is unplayable, the game |
|
| |
should be
played on the away teams pitch (where possible).
Common Sense MUST prevail over the playing of games.
ALL fixtures can be played on or BEFORE the date set down on the fixtures
list.
For instance, providing both teams agree and the Fixture Secretary is
informed, a game scheduled to be played in April can be brought forward and
played in February.
Games can be played anywhere on any day at any time - Providing both teams
agree.
If team managers are prepared to make an effort, there doesn't have to be a
major backlog of fixtures. Don't wait and hope - Your best players may
not be available in May and it's not unusual for championships, promotion
and relegation to be won or lost by the team managers who fail to plan
ahead.
Please Note that extending the season is not an answer to the problem.
Many Local Councils remove the goalposts at the beginning of May.
Many players also play cricket and teams may find they are short of players
by May.
Extensions to the playing season are only granted in extreme circumstances.
